Under the City's 2025 - 2030 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), the Military Road South and South 160th Street Project (ST-116), is Priority 9.

Estimated costs of the project are $9,917,000.00.

Design is planned to start in 2028, with construction planned for 2030.

The Military Road South and South 160th Street Project (ST-116), from International Boulevard to South 166th Street, will reconstruct and widen Military Road South to provide for drainage, bicycle lanes and pedestrian facilities, upgrade existing signals, channelization, street lighting, continuous left turn lane, and underground overhead utilities.  The project will also reconfigure the section between 34th Ave South and Military Road South from four lanes to three lanes with a two way left turn lane, bicycle lanes, and a sidewalk on the north side.

A roundabout at the intersection of Military Road South/South 164th Street/42nd Avenue South is also planned in alignment with the adopted Military Road South 5-Way Intersection Study.

This project incorporates project ST-N39, which will build a new separated bikeway and improved pedestrian facilities on 42nd Avenue South (from south 160th Street to Military Road South).
