For residential customers, food & yard waste service is included with your garbage service at no additional charge!  Recycling service is provided at no additional charge. Garbage is collected every week.

YOU CAN HELP. Please remember, all recycling needs to be EMPTY, CLEAN AND DRY, for us to continue to recycle our waste, save money and preserve our environment. 

For residential customers, your solid waste rates are based on the size of your can.  The smaller the can, the less you pay.  As you eliminate more recyclables and food & yard waste from your garbage container, you may be able to downsize to a smaller garbage container and a lower rate.  Recycling and food & yard waste are part of the basic residential curbside service at no additional cost.

Basic rates may be reduced by 50% if the principal residential customer meets the Recology contract designated low-income requirement AND is either a senior citizen (62 years of age or older) or receiving permanent disability benefits from Social Security or the Military (proof of permanent disability benefits required). Customers must register with the City (which forwards the information to Recology ) to qualify for the 50% discount.  The resident has to occupy the residence and pay the bills.  Please contact Public Works Programs Coordinator Mason Giem at 206.973.4763, or mgiem@seatacwa.gov to find out if you qualify and if so, to set up an appointment to fill out the forms.
