Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is a pattern of controlling, abusive behavior and can be emotional, sexual, or physical. It can happen to anyone.

The City of SeaTac Legal Department has a Victim Advocate to provide assistance to victims who live within SeaTac’s city limits.

If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

The advocate can provide victims with the following:

  • Safety planning and problem solving
  • Domestic violence education
  • Assistance through the legal process for cases filed by the City of SeaTac
  • Resource referrals
  • Interpreter services

The Victim Advocate can be reached Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 206.973.4634.

Protection Orders:

The primary purpose of most court orders is to keep the “respondent” or “defendant” from contacting or harming the “petitioner” or “victim.”  Violation of these orders could result in criminal prosecution.  If you or someone you know is feeling threatened, it is important to understand which Protection Order may be right for you.

Civil orders are orders you request.  Criminal orders are requested by the State (through a prosecutor) in a criminal case.

For assistance in filing a Protection Order, visit the website below or contact the King County Advocates.
