The Permit Center is the City’s one stop shop for all permitting customers. The Permit Center is responsible for answering questions, processing and administering permits for all types of construction and land use applications within the City. The following are some examples of permits and land use applications we administer; building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, sign, fire suppression, fuel storage tanks, conditional use permits, site plan review, SEPA, short plat, and right-of-way.

The City of SeaTac Permit Center is located on the Floor 3 of City Hall and is open:

Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Contact us: You can reach us by phone at 206.973.4750 or by email at permittechnicians@seatacwa.gov.

Walk-ins for general questions or inquiries are available. Walk-in service is limited to approximately 15 minutes per customer.

Permitting Portal: The permitting portal is located at https://lama.seatacwa.gov and should be used for Construction and Land Use applications.

Plan Review

Larger projects require plan review by more than one City department. As part of the review process the Permit Center routes the permit submittal to the appropriate City department for review. After all City departments have completed their review, the Permit Center will either send a permit approval notification or a comment letter to the applicant. The comment letter will explain what changes or corrections are necessary before the plans can be approved.

For general zoning and land use questions you can call 206.973.4750 or email seatacplanning@seatacwa.gov

Inspections

After the plans are approved, the Permit Center will inform the applicant that their permit is ready. After the permit is issued, the applicant may begin construction of their project. There are specific inspections required for each permit.

Requests for inspections are scheduled using the customer portal.  Requests received prior to 5:00 p.m. will be scheduled for the next business day.

As a general rule, no work shall be covered until approved by a City Inspector.
