The cumulative impact of an early Easter and school spring breaks spread out over a 3 week period means many regular donors are on vacation or out of their regular routines and haven’t been available to donate blood.  This has resulted in low blood supplies and has triggered an urgent need for donors to help meet patient needs at 90 Northwest hospitals served by Bloodworks Northwest.

The blood center is especially low on O positive, O negative, B negative and AB negative blood types but all blood types are needed DAILY to maintain adequate supplies for our community.  It takes around 800 donors per day to keep stable levels for our region.
